Using the Plug-in Hybrid menu (Type 1) (PHEV only)


You can use various features for plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, such as viewing your vehicle′s driving and energy information or scheduling a charging of your vehicle.
On the Home screen, press PHEV.

Plug-in Hybrid screen (Type 1) (PHEV only)

The Plug-in Hybrid screen provides the following functions and information:
  1. Return to the previous level.
  1. Display the options list.
  1. Display Off: Turn off the screen. Press the screen to turn it back on.
  2. User's Manual on Web (QR Code): View the QR code for access to the web manual.
  1. View information related to energy, such as the drivable distance and battery status. > See "Viewing Energy Information (Type 1) (PHEV only)."
  1. Schedule battery chargings or customize related options. > See "Using the Charge Management features (Type 1) (PHEV only)."
  1. View real-time eco-driving information. > See "Viewing ECO Driving information (Type 1) (PHEV only)."
  1. View the real-time energy flow. > See "Viewing Energy Flow (Type 1) (PHEV only)."

Depending on the vehicle model or specifications, displayed screens and available functions may vary.

Viewing Energy Information (Type 1) (PHEV only)

You can view the energy flow between the engine, the electric motor, and the battery according to your vehicle’s driving status.
On the Plug-in Hybrid screen, press Energy Information.

Energy Information screen

  1. Return to the previous level.
  1. Display the options list.
  1. Display Off: Turn off the screen. Press the screen to turn it back on.
  2. User's Manual on Web (QR Code): View the QR code for access to the web manual.
  1. Total drivable distance, current battery status, and range you can drive according to the fuel type (gasoline or electricity)
  1. Estimated time until your vehicle is fully charged by AC charging.
Note
The drivable distance is an estimate based on the real-time fuel efficiency. If your driving pattern changes, the estimated drivable distance will change accordingly.

Using the Charge Management features (Type 1) (PHEV only)

You can schedule battery charges according to a preset departure time. You can also set it to use off-peak electricity times for scheduled charging.
  1. On the Plug-in Hybrid screen, press Charge Management.
  1. Select an option to change.
Note
To access the web manual on the Charge Management screen, press > User's Manual on Web (QR Code) and then scan the displayed QR code.

Setting up scheduled chargings

You can schedule battery charges according to a preset departure time.

Setting the departure time

  1. On the Charge Management screen, press Charging Settings.
  1. Press next to Next Departure.
  1. Select a departure setting option and press next to it.
  1. Set the departure time and the day of the week and press OK.

Setting up scheduled chargings

  1. On the Charge Management screen, press Charging Settings.
  1. Press Scheduled Charging to activate it and press next to it.
  1. Select an option to change.
  1. Set the off-peak electricity time.
  1. Your vehicle will charge the battery for the next departure time, primarily using the off-peak electricity time.
  1. Your vehicle will charge the battery only at the off-peak electricity time.
  1. Press OK.
Note
Scheduled charging will start only if a charging cable is connected to your vehicle at the scheduled time.

Setting the charging current

You can set a charging current that is appropriate for your charger type.
  1. On the Charge Management screen, press Charging Current.
  1. Select a charger type to set the charging current.
  1. Set the charging current and press OK.
Note
  • Depending on the charging environment, the charging time may vary.
  • If you do not set an appropriate charging current, the battery may not be charged properly and it may cause a charging error.

Viewing ECO Driving information (Type 1) (PHEV only)

You can view your eco-driving information and previous driving history.
On the Plug-in Hybrid screen, press ECO Driving.

Viewing Fuel Economy information

You can view your vehicle’s fuel economy information.
On the ECO Driving screen, press Fuel Economy.
  1. Return to the previous level.
  1. Display the options list.
  1. Display Off: Turn off the screen. Press the screen to turn it back on.
  2. Delete History: Delete your driving history.
  3. User's Manual on Web (QR Code): View the QR code for access to the web manual.
  1. Average fuel economy
  1. Reset the fuel efficiency graphs to the default values.
  1. View your hybrid fuel economy displayed in a graph as well as your accumulated electric motor use.
Note
  • The fuel efficiency graphs will be updated every two and a half minutes and will automatically be reset when the engine is stopped.
  • The average fuel efficiency value shows the accumulated average fuel economy after refueling, so the value will not be reset despite the graph resetting.

Viewing Fuel Economy History

You can view the records of your previous driving, such as the date, driving distance, and fuel efficiency.
On the ECO Driving screen, press Fuel Economy History.
Note
  • The record with the best fuel efficiency is indicated with .
  • To delete your driving history, press > Delete History.

Viewing Energy Flow (Type 1) (PHEV only)

You can view the energy flow between the engine, the electric motor, and the battery according to your vehicle’s driving status.
On the Plug-in Hybrid screen, press Energy Flow.
