Using the Bluelink menu


You can use Bluelink services via the Bluelink menu in your system.

Sharing your vehicle’s location

You can share the vehicle’s current location and destination with other people. Up to 15 recipients can be selected by searching the contacts list of the connected Bluetooth phone or entering phone numbers manually.
  1. On the All Menus screen, press Bluelink > Location Sharing.
  1. Press Add New.
  1. Enter the recipients’ information and message.

  1. Press Start.
  1. The location sharing status icon will appear at the top of the screen, and a URL containing your vehicle’s current location will be sent to the recipients by text message.
Note
  • If the destination is already set, location sharing will last for the remaining time to arrival + 30 minutes. If a destination is not set, location sharing will last for 60 minutes.
  • You must agree to provide your personal information to third parties to use this service.
  • Location sharing is unavailable while the engine is stopped. When you start the engine, location sharing will be restarted.
  • Depending on the network status, the shared information may differ from the actual information.

  1. Return to the previous level.

  2. Location Sharing: Set whether to use location sharing. Select this option to use location sharing. (if equipped)
  3. Caller Info: View or edit the registered vehicle’s information.
  4. Edit Location Sharing Message: Edit the content of the text message to be sent for location sharing.
  1. Select a phone number from the contacts list of the connected Bluetooth phone. (if equipped)
  1. Delete the phone number you entered.

Up to 15 recipients can be added.

Location sharing screen

  1. Return to the previous level.
  1. Display the options list.
  1. Display Off: Turn off the screen. Press the screen to turn it back on.
  2. Delete: Delete items that have been closed or canceled on the location sharing list.
  3. Location Sharing: Set whether to use location sharing. Select this option to use location sharing. (if equipped)
  4. Caller Info: View or edit the registered vehicle’s information.
  5. Edit Location Sharing Message: Edit the content of the text message to be sent for location sharing.
  6. User's Manual on Web (QR Code): View the QR code for access to the web manual.
  1. Cancel the location sharing.
  1. Share your vehicle’s current location with other people.
  1. Select the items on the location sharing list and cancel sharing.
Note
  • To delete the location sharing list, press > Delete.
  • You cannot change or delete the shared information for which location sharing is in progress.
  • Up to 100 information shares can be saved. When storage space is not sufficient, the oldest data entries will automatically be deleted.

Sharing your vehicle’s location automatically

You can set the system to automatically send the vehicle’s location to the saved contacts when you set a saved location as the destination.

Setting up automatic location sharing

  1. On the All Menus screen, press Navigation Menu > Destination > Saved Place.
  1. Press Edit next to the location name in the address book.
  1. Select Share vehicle location when a destination is set. to activate it.
  1. The screen for entering the automatic location sharing information will appear. Enter the details and press Save.
Note
Activating this option is possible only when there is at least one phone number saved for location sharing.

Running automatic location sharing

  1. On the All Menus screen, press Navigation Menu > Destination > Running automatic location sharing.
  1. Select a location from the list and press Set as Destination.
  1. You can also select a location by pressing a shortcut button at the bottom of the navigation menu screen.
  1. Press Start Guidance.
  1. The location sharing status icon will appear at the top of the screen, and a URL containing your vehicle’s current location will be sent to the recipients by text message.
Note
The system will automatically start the navigation guidance after a moment.
Note
  • If the destination is already set, location sharing will last for the remaining time to arrival + 30 minutes. If a destination is not set, location sharing will last for 60 minutes.

Diagnosing your vehicle (if equipped)

When a warning light related to the engine or transmission system turns on, you can diagnose your vehicle remotely. The information will be sent to the Bluelink Center. You can receive diagnosis results from a representative and use additional services, such as towing, route guidance to a repair shop, or reserving maintenance.
  1. If a warning light illuminates during diagnosis, park your vehicle in a safe location.
Note
You can start a diagnosis only when the vehicle stops, because some components cannot be diagnosed while the vehicle is moving.
  1. On the All Menus screen, press Bluelink > Vehicle Diagnostics.
  1. A remote diagnosis will begin.
Note
Refrain from using your system until the diagnosis is complete and the result is displayed on the screen. If you move to another screen while a diagnosis is in progress, the diagnosis will be canceled.
  1. To check the result in detail, press Details next to the result.
  1. View the diagnosis result and perform a required function, as follows:
  1. To find the locations of nearby service centers, press Nearby Service Center.
  2. To contact the Bluelink Center and check the problem details, press Bluelink Center.
  3. To close the pop-up window and return to the diagnosis results list, press Close.
Note
  • A diagnosis can be performed only when a warning light for the engine or transmission system turns on. The engine and transmission systems are related to the vehicle's safe operation.
  • If a problem occurs in a component for which a warning light does not turn on, press the [SOS] button in the vehicle to request a route to a repair shop or to contact a towing company.
  • A diagnosis result provided by this service is only an estimated result based on the signals from your vehicle. Visit one of our authorized service centers for a detailed diagnosis.

Configuring the Bluelink settings

You can access the settings and information for Bluelink services.
  1. On the All Menus screen, press Bluelink > Bluelink Settings.
  1. Select a desired option.
  1. To subscribe to the Bluelink service, press Activate Bluelink.
  2. To view the modem information, press Modem Information.
  3. To set to receive a call for checking your safety from the Bluelink Center when it is suspected that you are driving dangerously, press Driver Attention Warning (if equipped).
