Listening to the radio


You can search for radio stations through various search methods and listen to them. You can also save your favorite radio stations to the preset list.
Use one of the following methods:
  • On the All Menus screen, press Radio.
  • On the control panel, press the [RADIO] button.

Radio screen

The radio screen provides various functions you can use for when you are listening to radio broadcasts.
  1. Return to the previous level.
  1. Display the options list.
  1. Display Off: Turn off the screen. Press the screen to turn it back on.
  2. Tune FM Manually (FM only): Preview each radio station for a few seconds and select the one you want. (if equipped).
  3. Tune AM Manually(AM only): Preview each radio station for a few seconds and select the one you want. (if equipped).
  4. Station List: Access the list of available radio stations.
  5. Scan FM (FM only): Preview each radio station for a few seconds and select the one you want.
  6. Scan AM (AM only): Preview each radio station for a few seconds and select the one you want.
  7. Delete Presets: Delete saved radio stations from the preset list. > See "Deleting saved radio stations."
  8. Kakao i History: View recent kakao i search results (if equipped).
Note
To use the kakao i service, first sign in to Bluelink. > See "Activating the service."
  1. Radio Noise (FM only): Access the screen where you can select the FM radio noise reduction option for the sound quality of the incoming signal.
  2. Sound Settings: Access the system sound settings screen.
  3. User's Manual on Web (QR Code): View the QR code for access to the web manual.
  1. Radio broadcast information
  1. Select a radio mode.
  1. Change the frequency. Press to switch to the previous or next frequency, or press and hold to change the frequency quickly. When you release or , the previous or next available radio station is selected automatically.
  1. Radio station information
  1. Set the song currently playing on the radio as one of your Favorites. Favorited songs will be indicated with (if equipped).
Note
  • is available on the radio screen only when you are subscribed to Bluelink.
  • is available on the radio screen only when you have activated a music search service and the title and artist information of the current song have been received.
  • You can find the songs set as your favorites in the Favorites category under the USB Music list. The Favorites category will show only the songs with information that matches the music files in the connected USB storage device.
  1. Activate the kakao i service. Information about the song currently playing will appear on the radio screen (if equipped).

  • To use the kakao i service, first sign in to Bluelink. > See "Activating the service."
  • While listening to the radio, use voice recognition to start the kakao i service (if equipped) > See Radio commands.‘
  1. Save the current radio station to the preset list, or delete it from the list. > See "Saving radio stations."
  1. Access the list of available radio stations (if equipped).

  • Depending on the vehicle model or specifications, displayed screens may vary.
  • Depending on the amplifier specifications, the sound effect setting button may appear on the screen. > See "Using sound effects (if equipped)."
  • Station names and local information are received via GPS signals. If no GPS signal is received, information may not be displayed.
  • Displayed station names may differ from the actual radio stations.

Changing the radio mode

Use one of the following methods:
  • On the radio screen, press the radio mode button.
  • On the control panel, press the [RADIO] button repeatedly. The radio mode switches to FM > AM in order.

Depending on the vehicle model or specifications, displayed screens may vary.

Changing the radio station

Use one of the following methods:
  • On the radio screen, select one of the radio stations from the preset list.
Note
You can also change the radio station by using the Search lever/button on the steering wheel.
  • On the control panel, press the [] or [] button. The previous or next available radio station will be selected.
You can now listen to the changed radio station.
Note
If your system has the [TUNE/FILE] knob on the control panel, you can also change the frequency by turning the knob.

Scanning for available radio stations

You can listen to each radio station for a few seconds and select the one you want.
  1. At the top left of the radio screen, press > Scan FM or Scan AM.
  1. The system provides a preview of each radio station on the available stations list for five seconds.
  1. When you find the radio station to which you want to listen, press .
  1. You can continue listening to the current radio station.

Saving radio stations

You can save your favorite radio stations and listen to them by selecting from the preset list.
While listening to a radio station, press on the radio screen.
  • The radio station you are listening to will be added to the preset list.
Note
  • You can also press > Station List and press next to a radio station to save it to the preset list.
  • You can save up to 24 radio stations.
  • Depending on the vehicle model or specifications, displayed screens may vary.

Editing the radio stations list

Deleting saved radio stations

  1. At the top left of the radio screen, press > Delete Presets.
  1. Select the radio station you want to delete and press Delete > Yes.
  1. The selected radio station will be deleted from the corresponding slot on the preset list.
Note
If you are listening to one of the saved radio stations, press to delete the current radio station.
