Alexa (if equipped)

With the Alexa function, you can easily access various functions of the infotainment system without having to use the screen or buttons. This function prevents driver distraction and risky situations.

  • For more information about Amazon Alexa, visit the Alexa website at https://www.alexa.com.
  • To use the service, make sure your vehicle user profile is linked to your Bluelink account. To link your vehicle user profile to your Bluelink account, press Setup User Profile from the Home screen.
  • Note the following to ensure accurate recognition of your voice command.
    • Pronounce a command accurately and naturally like you would in a conversation.
    • The microphone is located above the driver's head. Say your command while maintaining an upright posture. The microphone location may differ depending on the vehicle.
  • Alexa voice sessions automatically end when:
    • You make or receive a call.
    • A button is pressed to run another function (e.g., Radio or Media).
  • Alexa may not work properly when:
    • The sunroof or windows are open and there are strong winds.
    • The fan speed of the air conditioner or heater is high.
    • The vehicle is passing through a tunnel.
    • The vehicle is driving on an unpaved road and noise is loud due to vibration.
    • Vehicle is in an area with low network connectivity.
    • Noise is loud due to heavy rain or a storm.
  • When using Alexa, some commands may not be supported depending on the vehicle model and features.
  • Special characters included in a contact are not recognized by voice (e.g., School_John, John!).
  • Alexa is supported only for certain languages. If you change the system language, voice recognition may not be supported.

Using the Alexa function

  1. Perform any of the following methods:
    • Alexa's functions may operate differently and its response speed may differ, depending on the region and situation.
    • All features may not be available or some features may operate differently from what is described in this user manual, depending on the vehicle's update status.
    • If you press the Voice Recognition button on the steering wheel when the system is waiting for a voice command, the voice session will end.
  2. Say the desired command.

    The recognized command appears, and the requested function runs.

    • The screen may differ depending on the vehicle model and specifications.
    • If multiple search results are found, follow the voice response to say the the line number of the item in the displayed list you would like to select.
    • The quality of service may be reduced, depending on technical issues specific to content platform.
    • The service may not be available if the vehicle navigation system is not working normally due to having been modified, removed/reattached, damaged, poorly serviced, or for any other reason.
    • Access to the service may fail due to a temporary communication failure.

Signing out of Alexa

To sign out of the Alexa, Press Setup Alexa Sign Out from the Home screen.

Adjusting the voice guidance volume

When voice recognition mode is on, you can adjust the volume by using the volume button on the control panel or steering wheel.

Alexa Media Player screen

Say the desired command (e.g., Alexa, play Amazon music).

Displays the currently playing media in Alexa Media Player.

  • To view the online manual, press Online Manual, and scan the QR code with your mobile phone.
  • The screen may differ depending on the vehicle model and specifications.
  • The quality of service may be reduced, depending on technical issues specific to content platform.
  • The service may not be available if the vehicle navigation system is not working normally due to having been modified, removed/reattached, damaged, poorly serviced, or for any other reason.
  • Access to the service may fail due to a temporary communication failure.
